Panera Bread Raises Awareness for Breast Cancer with Pink Ribbon Bagels
The pink ribbon is a long-standing symbol for the united support of breast cancer research. Because of this, Panera has created special pink bagels shaped like ribbons to help raise funds for this important cause here on Long Island. Baked fresh each day in all area Panera Bread bakery-cafes, the bagels feature real bits of Bing cherries and healthy cranberries.
Participants at the "Weekend for a Cure" walk at Flowerfield in St. James will also be treated to a bagel "to go" prior to the start of their 2.5 mile Walkathon on October 2. To register for the walk, visit www.findacure.org.
"Panera Bread is committed to serving the members of the local community, many of whom have had their lives touched by breast cancer," said Greg George, Director of Operations for Panera. "We are honored to support the Carol M. Baldwin Research Fund in its search for a cure."
Pink Ribbon bagels will be on sale at all seven Panera Bread bakery cafes including Bohemia, Carle Place, East Meadow, East Northport, Hicksville, Huntington and Mineola.
