L.I. Ducks Baseball Weekly Recap
The Long Island Ducks opened last week with a road series in Bridgeport, CT. After dropping the opener, the Flock took the next two games before coming home to Central Islip. Long Island split the four-game set with the Bears after winning the first and fourth games of the series. Lance Davis continued to embed himself in the annals of Ducks history, becoming the franchise's all-time wins leader on Tuesday and, after a scoreless five inning outing on Sunday, earned his 11th victory of the season, giving him the single season record for wins. The Ducks welcome the Lancaster Barnstormers to Citibank Park for a three-game series starting on Tuesday (9/20). With six games remaining in the season's second half, the team owns a 34-30 record and leads the second place Pride by three games in the North Division standings. The Ducks magic number to clinch the North Division's second half crown is four. Any combination of four Long Island wins or Nashua losses will secure a postseason berth.
If the Ducks qualify for the postseason, the opening game is scheduled for Tuesday, September 27 at Citibank Park. Playoff ticket prices are $8 (standing room only) to $11 (field box seats).
