Islandwide Events This Weekend
LONG ISLAND FESTIVAL OF TREES
If you say "Festival of Trees" real fast it sounds like "Festivus," but there is nothing made up about this event. It starts Friday, November 26 and runs through the rest of the weekend and next weekend as well. Billed as the largest indoor holiday Christmas festival in the New York metropolitan area, the 16th annual Long Island Festival of Trees takes place at the LI Marriott Hotel in Uniondale and the LI Children's Museum and Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City (both are within a mile of each other). The display of designer-decorated trees and holiday creations at the Marriott is free. ELF (Everybody Loves Festival) tickets are $18 per person and allow one-time entry to each venue at any time during the festival. Several child-focused events are planned, including the Teddy Bear Tea, Sugar Plum Ball and Breakfast with Santa. For more information call (516) 378-2000 x230.
